Eleana Rizou
Vice President, Education and Training
Eleana is a fifth year PhD student at Rice University in the Warmflash lab. Her research focuses on early human embryogenesis spanning from gastrulation to neurulation. She is using human embryonic stem cells and human 2D micropattern embryoids as a model system to interrogate the spatial patterning and signaling dynamics of human embryos. Besides her research inrerest she has a vivid interest in academic Teaching and has been an instructor for an undergraduate course at Rice University and also working on acquiring the Graduate Teaching Certificate from Rice CTE. Other hobbies involve singing in an amateur band with other PhDs from Rice, painting with acrylic colors and caring for her plants.
