Matea is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine. She works at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she studies the role of a putative Alzheimer’s disease risk gene at mammalian synapses and in behavior. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her cat Presh, and exploring Houston parks.
